Girlfriend Freaks Over Cat Dad And His Babies– Reddit Hilariously Puts Her In Her Place

You'd think that by now, in the year 2022, we'd have gotten over most traditional gender roles. There's just no place in society for such strictly stratified ideals of what's acceptable for a man or a woman to do. That's why this Reddit post got us so fired up, and it got most of the people commenting pretty excited too! So here's the scoop…

The young man who posted his problem to Reddit is a longtime cat owner who defines themselves by their relationship with their fur babies. Their girlfriend however is not a cat parent, and seems to be pretty judgmental about OPs relationship with their cat, Lilly. Tensions had been flaring up for the young couple for a few weeks, but things came to a head when Lilly recently had kittens. OP was overjoyed, naturally, and posted a picture online about their joy at being a cat dad to all those beautiful little babies. His girlfriend on the other hand… she was not so overjoyed. Apparently by calling himself their dad, and by calling the kittens babies, she felt that OP was being creepy. She even had the audacity to call him selfish for posting a picture of his own kittens, all because she was uncomfortable with it.

As most commenters pointed out, that's some pretty controlling behavior. And, her comments also probably stem from some misplaced jealousy, or a misunderstanding of how OP can love both her and the cats at the same time. Regardless, the whole thread had us laughing, and we figured you'd all have the same reaction. This all starts out innocently enough, however, if this girlfriend really loves this guy, what is she so worried about? Does it bother her that his heart is bursting with affection for animals, and she thinks he won't have enough for her? Something about the whole situation just doesn't seem right, and we'll wait until later to make a decision, but the whole thing reeks of jealousy.

So, the guy posted a picture online, and that's it? This girl literally threw a fit and left the house because she didn't want her boyfriend calling himself a cat dad. Here's a tip though– if he's an amazing cat dad, he'd probably be an amazing real dad too. Seems like she's going to lose a good one by pulling all this nonsense.
